Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 October 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how the DogiGram Android application ("DogiGram", "the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use it. We are committed to keeping the app private by design and collecting as little information as possible.
Short version: DogiGram is an open-source Telegram client. It does not run its own servers and does not collect, sell, or monetize your personal data. Your messages and account live on Telegram's infrastructure and are governed by Telegram's own privacy policy.
2. Who we are
DogiGram is a free app developed by Omega-57 and published on Google Play.
3. Relationship with Telegram
DogiGram is an unofficial client built on top of the open-source Telegram for Android source code. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Telegram.
When you sign in, the app connects directly to Telegram's servers using the public Telegram API and the MTProto protocol. Your account, contacts, chats, and media are stored and processed by Telegram — not by DogiGram. Your use of Telegram's service is therefore also subject to:
4. Data the app handles
DogiGram itself does not operate any servers, analytics backends, or advertising networks. The developer of DogiGram does not receive or have access to your personal data. The following data is handled on your device and/or sent directly to Telegram to make the app work:
- Account & profile information — your phone number, username, profile name and photo, used to sign in to and operate your Telegram account.
- Messages & media — text, photos, videos, files, voice and video calls you send or receive, exchanged with Telegram's servers.
- Contacts — if you choose to allow contact syncing, contacts are sent to Telegram so it can show which of them use Telegram. This is optional.
- App settings & cache — your in-app preferences, themes, and cached media, stored locally on your device.
This data is processed only to provide the messaging features you request. DogiGram adds no separate tracking, profiling, or data collection of its own.
5. Device permissions
The app may ask for certain Android permissions. Each is used only for the related feature, and most are optional:
- Camera & microphone — to take photos/videos and make voice or video calls.
- Photos, media & storage — to send and save attachments.
- Contacts — optional, to find friends already on Telegram.
- Notifications — to alert you about new messages.
- Location — only if you choose to share your location in a chat.
You can review or revoke these permissions at any time in Android Settings.
6. How data is used
Information is used solely to:
- Authenticate you and operate your Telegram account;
- Send, receive, and display messages, media, and calls;
- Store your preferences and cached content on your device; and
- Provide the features you actively choose to use.
DogiGram does not sell your data, show third-party ads, or use your data for advertising.
7. Sharing & third parties
DogiGram does not share your data with the app's developer or any advertising or analytics company. Two third parties are involved in normal use:
- Telegram — receives the data necessary to deliver its messaging service, as described in its own privacy policy.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — used solely to deliver push notifications. Google receives a device registration token to route notifications to your device; it does not receive your message content. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
We may disclose information only if required to do so by law.
8. Retention & deletion
Locally stored data (settings and cache) remains on your device until you clear it or uninstall the app. Data held by Telegram is retained and deleted according to Telegram's policies and the actions you take in the app. To delete your account and associated data, see our Account & Data Deletion guide.
9. Security
Communication with Telegram's servers is encrypted in transit using Telegram's MTProto protocol. Secret Chats additionally offer end-to-end encryption. As an open-source app, DogiGram's full source code is publicly auditable. No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, but we rely on Telegram's established security infrastructure.
10. Children
DogiGram is not directed at children under the age required to use Telegram in your country (generally 16, or as set by Telegram's Terms of Service). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the revised policy.
